Consulting Engineering Services, has designed the first Net Zero Energy Home in Connecticut. The Killingworth residence meets the requirements of the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund Net Zero Challenge and is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED® for Homes.

Natural Talent Design Competition 2010

Deadline for project submission is May 31, 2010

 

The Salvation Army joins the U.S. Green Building Council this year in hosting USGBC‘s 2010 Natural Talent Design Competition. Entrants will design an affordable, 800 square foot green home for an elderly client in the Broadmoor, New Orleans neighborhood.

Five major companies recently announced they would form a coalition to encourage commercial landlords to provide competitively priced leased space that is environmentally sensitive. Stamford-based Pitney Bowes has joined with DuPont, IBM Corp., Fluor Corp. and the Switzer Group to raise awareness that it is difficult to secure leading-edge energy and environmental features when a company is leasing a relatively small amount of space in a large multi-tenant building.  On the surface, this may not seem like serious stuff but it certainly sets a tone for the next generation of green building...
