It’s In the Bag with ReSnackIt.com™
It is estimated that 20 million plastic baggies are being thrown away each week in U.S. schools and that’s just schools. I know I have used and discarded my fare share over the years. Last week I stumbled onto ReSnackIt.com™, a new green business in Avon, Connecticut that is not very high tech and not too complicated but captured my interest because it takes a basic daily task such as packing ones lunch and gives the consumer an affordable green option.
Kristin Webster, Founder of Live and Dream Green LLC is a former Health Education teacher with no business background who came up with the idea of producing a reusable sandwich/snack bag. ReSnackIt’s reusable bags are made of washable cotton and nylon and secured with Velcro. ReSnackIt is lined with nylon that is free from lead, phthalates, BPA and PVC and can be washed in the clothes washer or dishwasher. They are also manufactured in Connecticut.
In a recent article posted on the www.hamptons.com, Webster states “ReSnackIt keeps sandwiches and snacks fresh because of a coating on the underside of the lining, away from the food, which allows contents to retain moisture – no dried out bread, and the fold over design and Velcro on the front of the bag keeps contents and freshness inside. ReSnackIt is perfect for your ‘on the go’ eats.” She continues, “This is an eco-friendly product that supports conservation in style.”
The bags range in price from $7.99-$9.99 and come in different patterns. The bags are available for individual sale from retailers throughout Vermont, Connecticut, Ohio and New York and through the ReSnackIt’s website.
